D.I.Y.: Brush Organization

He-loooow!

Every time I watch a D.I.Y. brush holder video on YouTube, I always hear the store "Michael's". Every time I watch those, I always think, "I wish we had a Michael's here." 'Cause those bead fillers are very hard to find here.

I don't think I've seen them anywhere actually. So, this idea popped into my head and I tried it out and I actually like it!

It's a lot easier to make and the materials are probably things you already have or ones that are easy to find here.

Here are the materials that you will be needing.
♥ A square-ish pen holder
♥ Tape
♥ Thread (a bit on the thick side)
♥ Scissors
♥ Cotton (not in the picture)

STEP 1:
♥ Cut the thread into shorter pieces.
♥ The length should be able to go across the mouth of the pen holder.

*Before proceeding to Step 2, lay down a thin layer of cotton on the bottom of the pen holder to prevent the tips of your brushes to slip.
(See Step 4)

STEP 2:
♥ Tape one side of the thread on one side of the pen holder.
♥ Tape the other end of the thread to the other side of the pen holder.

STEP 3:
♥ Leave a bigger space on either side to accommodate fatter brushes.
♥ Otherwise, make the spacing similar to the photo above.

STEP 4:
♥ So the same on the other two sides to form a criss cross pattern.

STEP 5:
♥ Run an extra layer of tape around the pen holder.
♥ Position the tape so that it's slightly lower than the first batch of tape you placed.

FINAL PRODUCT!

Hope you guys found this useful!!

If you decide to try this out, make sure to blog about it and post a link below. I'd love to see how yours turn out.

Thank you sooo much for reading! :)

Oh and a few months ago, I did makeup for a fashion show and I kinda forgot all the brushes and I used a lip brush for the eyes and it was just a mess.

Look what I decide to do.

Yes, I labeled them. Don't laugh!

I just thought that it should make things more organized and convenient especially in hectic atmospheres such as that of fashion shows.

I'm used to doing photo shoots where it's a lot more calm and you're working at your own pace. But this was a good experience and I'm looking forward to more! :)

Hope you like!

this is a very nice idea ^__^ I like it! :)

I think there is nothing wrong with labeling your brushes. I might do that too if I decide to try the more extensive part of putting makeup on. :D

have a nice day ^__^

labeling makes it easier for the reach, i remember when i was new with makeup and i was like "what is this for?" and i had to feign that i know what im doing just to survive the day, which wasn't really a success since someone pointed out my blunder and good thing she did after the demo was done and in private. :)
