Tutorial: Spring Trends (Natural Makeup)

Hiiii!!!!

This one is for natural makeup!

I was really really really lazy to take photos for a tutorial so, I tried my hand at making a video tutorial instead! I'm not gonna lie, this is a LOT easier than making a blog tutorial.

But fussing with the lighting and editing and voice over is still a huge factor in this so, I might just switch between the two tutorial styles.

However, here is the tutorial I made for this one. The lighting just washes the color out but hopefully this still helps!

Products Used: (in order of appearance)
♥ Wish Powder
♥ Clinique Blush in Chesnut Blush
♥ 88 Shimmer Palette from GetSophisticated
♥ Ever Bilena Eye Liner in Black
♥ Covergirl LashBlast Volume in Very Black
♥ Estee Lauder Blush All Day Natural Cheek Color in Sepia

So, there you go! Hope you like!

Tutorial: Faking Pastel Nails by Layering Polishes

Hey hey heyy!!

So, pastels are another huge thing this spring. So, I thought I'd do this neat thing where you can fake the look of pastels.

Faux-stels. LOL
The Face Shop Nail Polish in YL702
No Namer Polish
Bobbie Basic Special Quick Dry

Start with a Base Coat
Then your yellow nail polish.
The only other color that I've tried this with and it turned out nice was hot pink.

Okay, so, sorry for the no namer polish but here's a close up shot of it. Hopefully you'll find something similar but if you don't, a sheer peach color would probably work.

Layer that on top of the yellow polish.
There you go!

Here's a disgustingly close shot of my big toe. :D As you can see, the no namer polish tones down the brightness of the yellow and gives it a pastel-ish finish!

Hope you like!

Tutorial: Spring Trends (Smoky Eyes)

Heyyyyyyyyzzz!!

Another entry for my spring trends series. I already did a Smoky Eye tutorial before but this one's a bit more detailed (?) or intricate (?). So, yeah.

So, here's my take on it.

First up, you need to prime your eyes.

Next, pick a mid-tone color and place it all over your lids. In this case, I picked a mid-tone silver but this works for pretty much any color.

But smoky eyes are typically made with dark-colored shadows.

Whatever color you may choose, remember to extend the shadow to your lower lash line as well in order to achieve the full smoky effect.

Next up, is to give depth to your eyes.
Pick a color that's significantly darker than the first color you chose. Make an angled line similar to that of a winged liner and extend this line into your crease to give it depth.

Similar to what you did with the first color, extend this shadow to your lower lash line but only go halfway so that the rest of the way, the first shadow still peeks through.

The next step is key to achieving a good smoky look. Blending.
Blend the dark color that you've just placed in your crease. Blend it upwards and upwards as well in order to achieve a full gradient effect.

Don't stop blending until you can no longer tell where the first shadow stops and where the second shadow starts.

The goal of blending is to erase all harsh lines.

Next is the inner color highlight.
Since we are dealing with dark colors, this can sometimes weigh your eyes down. In order to remedy that, grab an eyeshadow color that is significantly lighter than the first eyeshadow color that you picked.

Apply this in your inner conner, in the same general area of the tear duct. Remember to apply this both in the upper and lower inner corner.

And again, do not forget to blend the lightest color with the two other shadows that you have placed earlier.

Lastly, apply your liner and mascara.
Apply them as you normally would.

I skipped the blush for this particular look cause I wanted to achieve the look of a pale face but dark eyes. But if you do not like the pale look, then I suggest picking a blush that is warm in order to give you color but not take away the focus from your eyes.

As for the lips, in line with my paled out face, I wanted to pale out my lips.
I used a creamy concealer on my lips and topped it off with clear gloss. My natural lip pigmentation still shines through but the general idea of a pale lip is predominant.

So, this is what the outcome looks like.
This is my take on the smoky eyes trend.

I hope you guys enjoyed!

Tutorial: Gun-Metal Nails by Layering Polishes

Hello everybody! :)

One of the trends this spring (hehe. feeling American!) for nails is Gun-Metal Gray. Since I am restricted by my self-imposed challenge to purchase any other colors than the ones I already own, I discovered an amazing technique to make it seem like I have more colors than I actually do.

This technique is layering polishes. I will show you how to achieve a gunmetal gray effect by layering polishes.
Winmax Nail Art Enamel in Black
Bobbie Basic Special Quick Dry

First, apply your choice of base coat.

Second, apply any black nail polish. As I have said in a past post, I ran out of my old black polish so, all I had left was this nail art polish which had a super thin brush and it left streaky lumps, but that's okay.

Next, pick a very sheer silver nail polish and apply a very thin coat of it so that the black still peeks through a bit.

Then, there you go. As I've said, my nail polish is very streaky cause I used a nail art polish. It'll look lots better if you use a polish with a regular sized brush.

So, yeah! Look forward to more spring-related posts because I have been very into the trends for spring lately.

Hope you like!

Tutorial: Spring Trends (Bright Eyes)

Heyyy!!

Since spring doesn't exist on our side of the world and we can't really take part in spring trends for fear of melting in the heat, the most we can do is take part in the spring makeup trends.

This is a series thing where I do my version of this year's spring makeup trends.

First up is the bright eye shadow trend.

Here's the Michelle version. :)
I used no-brand makeup so, I can't really tell what I used. But the beauty of this look is that you can do it with any shadow and any color. you just need 3 different shades of the color and you're all set!
