Review: 3 Clinique Lipsticks (Waterviolet, Extreme Pink, Berry Freeze)

Hellooo!

I'm doing a review on all of my lip products so there's gonna be lots more coming up! :)

So, this one's gonna be about the three different kinds of Clinique lip sticks. So, read on my friends!
L-R:
Color Surge Bare Brilliance in Waterviolet
High Impact SPF15 in Extreme Pink
Long Last Lipstick in Berry Freeze

Rating:
5: Beyond Explanation
4: Awesome
3: Decent
2: Dislike
1: Hate
0: Abhor

Color Surge Bare Brilliance in Waterviolet
1. Packaging: (4/5)
The packaging is really nice and cute. But the material that is used in the packaging is a fingerprint magnet which some people hate. I don't know if this is a tester that I have but I love the size of it. It's very "to-go-ish". It's good material, very sturdy and not at all cheap-looking.

2. Application: (5/5)
It goes on pretty nice on the lips. It applies smoothly. It doesn't feel heavy on the lips and it isn't sticky at all. You can't really feel the glitters, it's all smooth and none of that chunky stuff.

3. Pigmentation: (0/5)
I do not like the pigmentation of this one at all. It doesn't do anything. It looks amazing in the tube but it does not translate at all. The best it can do is a sheer glaze of purple and the glitters do not even translate as much as I would have liked them too either.

4. Scent: (3/5)
It smells just like any other lipstick. It doesn't smell like the usual Clinique products but it does smell like the usual tube of lipstick.

5. Staying Power: (3/5)
Nothing special. The staying power is typical.

OVERALL RATING: 3/5
WOULD I RECOMMEND?: No.

OTHERS:

Price: Approximately Php620
(If you want to try this out, I recommend the gift with purchase thing it is just NOT worth it if you pay the full price for it.)
Availability: Rustan's Department Store
Color: (In the tube) Pink-based purple with lots of shimmer (On the lips) Slight pink-purple tinge with significantly less shimmer.

High Impact SPF15 in Extreme Pink
1. Packaging: (3/5)
It has the typical Clinique packaging which I have a few beefs with. Number one, I don't like the color. It's a pastel mint green kind of, and I'm not a big fan but I have to admit, it is something that is uniquely Clinique. If I see a tube that color, I immediately know, Clinique! But a substantial thing that I don't like about the packaging is that, aside from the actual label under the tube, you have no way of knowing what the color looks like without actually opening it.

2. Application: (3/5)
When you put it on your lips, it doesn't really glide on so smoothly. It's definitely one of those lipsticks that you need to take time to apply. It is a tad bit on the drying side but nothing too bad. If anything, I'd say that its effect is that of a regular lipstick.

3. Pigmentation: (5/5)
The pigmentation is AMAZING! I am in love with it! It's totally opaque and you can totally build it up. I love the iridescence and the dimensions of the colors and it has sparkles and I just absolutely love it.

4. Scent: (4/5)
It doesn't have the signature-Clinique-paint-smell and it's not the typical lipstick smell either. It has a slight sweet note in there. It kind of smells like lollipop but none of those tweener lollipop scented lipgloss kind of smell. As you know, I love smells like this, but honestly, you can't even smell it until you literally put your nose in the tube and inhale.

5. Staying Power: (4/5)
The staying power is good. Not amazing but definitely not the typical staying power.

OVERALL RATING: 3.8/5
WOULD I RECOMMEND?: Yes. This is my favorite pink lipstick ever!

OTHERS:
Price: Approximately Php650
Availability: Rustan's Department Store
Color: Pink based coral color with blue iridescence and silver shimmers.

Long Last Lipstick in Berry Freeze
1. Packaging: (3/5)
It has the same packaging as the one in Extreme Pink so, naturally, I have the same issues.

2.Application: (4/5)
It goes on a tad bit smoother as compared to Extreme Pink. It feels light on the lips although it feels a bit drying. But in my opinion, Extreme Pink was a tad bit more drying. Focusing only on the consistency, this is one that takes a bit less effort to apply but, considering the color, makes it a bit harder.

3. Pigmentation: (5/5)
The pigmentation of this one is amazing as well. It captures the dark berry color very well. It's also very versatile because you can just stain your lips with it for a berry wash and full-on swipe it for a more intense lip look.

4. Scent: (3/5)
Typical lipstick scent. Enough said.

5. Staying Power: (3/5)
I cannot give a completely accurate rating on the staying power because I just use this product to stain my lips. I have yet to test the staying power when you swipe it fully on your lips. However, just by staining the staying power is decent.

OVERALL RATING?: 3.6/4
WOULD I RECOMMEND?: Again, this is probably dupe-able but if you have some money that you wanna get rid of, then, yes. Otherwise, this is not something that I deem worthy to be sought out.

OTHERS:

Price: Approximately Php650
Availability: Rustan's Department Store
Color: A deep brown toned red with gold and/or silver shimmers.
SUMMARY:
  1. Color Surge Bare Brilliance in Waterviolet - FAIL
  2. High Impact SPF15 in Extreme Pink - WIN
  3. Long Last Lipstick in Berry Freeze - MEH
